Library fines waived for food donations |
(March 16, 2010) From now through April 3, patrons who bring to the Atheneum library unopened, unexpired, packaged food items for the Nantucket Emergency Food Pantry can have their overdue fines waived.
In addition, donors will also receive a free book from the Atheneum’s year-round Used Book Sale section, located at the base of the stairs to the Great Hall.
For over 175 years the Atheneum has served the island as a cultural and educational center. Today, the library offers free lending of books and films to library cardholders, free wi-fi service, and programs for children, teens and adults.
